"How does fluorescent light work?"

Well Anonymous, let me just start off by saying I’m a big fan of your poems, even though some of them are kind of weird.
Light pretty much all works the same - it moves really fast and probably causes cataracts. But in case you meant “how does a fluorescent light bulb work?” I’ll answer that one too (even though I have soooooo many questions to answer).
When you were young, did you ever smash the tail of a lightning bug (or firefly depending on where you are from) and rub it between your fingers to make your fingers glow? I know it sounds inhumane, but the way I see it, the more time kids spend killing bugs the less time they spend killing higher order species. Anyway, fluorescent light bulbs work pretty much the same way. Just crush a fluorescent light bulb in your hand and you’ll know what I mean.

Your analogy doesn't make any sense! Smashing a fluorescent light bulb doesnt explain anything.
