Apnea Tables Log
For the past week and a half or so I have been working on apnea tables. These are basically sets of breath holding that increase in time for each hold and you do a set every other day. People do these for free diving and I'm thinking about getting into it. The guy that's training me, Greg Leo, is possibly the best free diver in the country, having tied the national static record at about 7 minutes 15 seconds and shattered the dynamic records by 75%.
I'm going to use this post as a log in the comments to keep track of how long I get. My new record is 4:15! Give it a try and let me know what your time is and/or reasons why this could be bad for me.
*Helpful hints: Each hold gets a little easier, so if your first time is 1:30 try for 1:45 the next time and so on. Don't do more than eight holds in a set. Also, your chest may begin to undergo involuntary contractions since your body will want to breathe. This is normal and when you reach this stage it is your theoretical half limit.
